None of the pictures I took turned out how I wanted, and I guess with Preston waiting in the car I was never going to have the time to wait for the money shot, or play with my settings to overcome the problems I was having. So, in order to at least post something, I decided instead to play in photoshop with layers and effects, to try and jazz up some pretty dismal pics!
But, that's what the blog is for right, learning. And I really have some learning to do!
I think you've done a nice job here Crystal. These have a real old school look and feel eh, what with the graininess, the scratches and the vignetting. Number 2 reminds me of old newspaper shots in The Daily Post. My fave is shot 1... the red pops and I like the tight vertical crop.
ReplyDeleteIt's good fun experimenting eh? I'm glad we've opened up to photoshop etc. Shots have more scope and allow more "artiness".
I can't remember what we decided was next topic?!!?
ReplyDeleteWhat is it for this month oh-Crystal-topic-deciding-photography-leader?
We haven't decided yet! Here are some random ideas: angles, a single colour, neon light, the fruit bowl, geometry, we all shoot the same building and see how we interpret it e.g. the temple, the Bank in town, the courthouse; motion, landscape, town and country, a night shot....any of these sound any good or any other ideas??
DeleteI like these shots. As well as having an old-school feel to them, the compositions are pretty cool. My fave is the third one with that one cow in the centre and his posse in a mighty ducks style 'flying v' behind him.
ReplyDeletePS, I do realise that cows are girls and I said 'him'
yes the flying ducks pose is my have too : )
DeleteHey I like Crystals idea about photographing the same thing to see how we interpret it. How about CCNZ?
